The Exploratory Study on Development of Social Indicators for Community Welfare:Case of Suwon city with Matrix Analysis

|
The social indicator is the standard on quality of life and society for resident in community. Based on community status, it is necessary to develop on the social indicator which is matched the social plan in community and quality of life and society in recent year. The purpose of this study is to develop on the exploratory social indicators for community welfare in Suwon city. Theoretically, the author discuss on perspectives which combined quality of life and society for social indicators. For research methodology, it applied to matrix analysis and analyzed on status and the existing index in Suwon. According to the analysis, it was found that X axis was the field of client which was related with community welfare plan. Y axis was theme which was correlated with Korea Social Index. The results showed that the matrix involved 15 index as theme and 9 index as client. The detail was selected by 341 index as individual items. The author proposed Community Welfare Matrix Index (CWMI). Finally, the implication of this study include theoretical approach of welfare index, systematic design, accumulation and management of basic statistic data, development of new version index, and utilization and planning for social plan in community due to the suggested CWMI.
